Silverstone 24hr weekend
Edward wins the Britsports 2007 Champioship :-)
With a double header weekend ahead the pressure was building with only a couple of points between Edward and Will Curtis for the overall championship position. Friday brought problems as the Norma's honda engine seemed to have an intermittent miss fire and refused to come on cam. The decision was made to miss the first race basically handing the championship to Mr Curtis to fix the problem for race 2.
Lady luck was on our side as Will suffered a puncture in race one damaging his car so he was unable to complete enough of the race to finish. This put the pressure back on as it all rested on race 2. After a night of sensor and ECU changing race 2 was upon us. Starting from the back of his class Edward raced off overtaking loads of cars and putting in the second fastest lap time for his class all weekend. Then trouble struck again, the engine would not pick up and get on cam causing Edward to drop seconds each lap. Meanwhile Will Curtis was running in 4th position in class. Could Edward do enough to finish high enough up the points to beat Will???
Eventually the race finished with Edward finishing 5th in class and Will finished 4th in class.
This was enough for Edward to take the overall 2007 Britsports championship buy 2 points. Congratulations Edward.
Brands Hatch 11th-12th Aug Britcar and Britsports
Edward now leads the Britsports overall Championship with only 2 races to go!!
A busy weekend with 3 races for Neil and his team
Saturday was the final Britcar race of the year with the 996. Again the weather was warm and Rod and Jan were looking for a good result to boost their championship position to 3rd in class. Again Jan started passing over to Rod at half time. With a good constant pace they finished well. Unfortunately not beating their rivals to 3rd in the championship but a well deserved 4th in class was a fine result in the 2007 Britcar GTC championship.
Sunday was Edward's turn in the Norma. Currently running joint first in the overall Britsports championship and first in the CN class the pressure was on for a good result. Only having old tyres to run on the car didn't feel as good as is should but Edward managed to put in a good qualifying lap and was first in his class. Onto the race, the conditions looked like rain. A fast and furious 50 minutes later saw Ed lap his closest challenger to win his class and have the class fastest lap. This leaves Edward leading the overall championship which will come to ahead at Silverstone with two races on the 8th and 9th of September.
Sunday also saw Rod race his 996 as an invitation in the Production S1 round. Qualifying second by a fraction of a second was a good standing for the race. Then just as the cars left the pits on their out lap the heavens opened. The race was declared a wet one so a quick change of tyres and the race was under way. Some of the smaller lighter cars revelled in the wet but drying conditions. We pulled Rod in right at the end of the compulsory pit window to change back to slicks as there was now a dry line. Rod could now push hard on the dry line finishing 3rd place overall.
Donnington Britcar 4th August
A Hot challenging weekend for the 996
A busy Donnington weekend in the hot and humid conditions. A broken front anti roll bar link in qualifying left Rod and Jan off the pace. All repaired and a great start by Jan saw him moving up the grid. Halfway through and we changed drivers to Rod but a damaged drinks system and very warm conditions left Rod suffering the heat inside the 996. Nearing the end of the race Rod was on the radio with a problem, as it turned out the fuel pump had broken free from its mount causing low fuel pressure and dramatically reducing the engines power. We decide to finish the race early to prevent any damage but still finished well with 5th in class.

Another Podium finish for Edward this time in VdeV UK
Another opportunity to show our pace against the VdeV teams. With a good testing session and improvement with the cars set up Edward was right at the top of the time sheet. Qualifying saw Edward 5th on the grid ready for the 1h45 min race.
With a good start and constant pace Edward held his track position during the race. A pit stop under the safety car brought the grid back together then it was a push for the finish. With black clouds looming overhead then a downpour which gave everybody a challenge out on slicks, Edward kept his cool seeing the works Spirit Norma spin in front of him giving him 3rd place. A push to the finish saw Edward on the 3rd podium step for his first VdeV endurance race.
Castle Combe 14th July 2007 Britcar
2 more podium finishes for Neil and his team with the 996 GT3
An exciting weekend at our local track saw Rod and Jan Finish both 50 Min races on the podium.
With consistent pace between the two drivers and no mistakes brought Rod and Jan Two 2nd place trophy's each for the weekend hard work.

More Engine Dramas in the pouring rain!!
A challenging weekend was ahead of us. It was Dom's turn to suffer the engine problem this weekend with every attempt made to make the race it just was not to be.
The pouring rain put a dampener on everyone's weekend with Edward struggling with the Norma in the wet.
He pushed on finishing first in class and running joint first in class in the Britsports Championship.
Brands Indi 23rd June 2007 VdeV
Drama for Edwards first VdeV uk outing
Edwards first VdeV uk Outing ended quicker than expected with a blown engine. After a promising test session and fast improving lap time Edward's engine gave in before we got to qualifying. A broken roller rocker and snapped cam chain was the end of Edward's weekend.
Spa 15th/16th/17th June 2007 Britcar
A solid finish for Rod and Jan / Electrical gremlins for Edward
With a newly built car that had only been fired up before we had to leave for spa Rod and Jan completed the 4 hour race in the mixed conditions. Finishing a satisfying 4th in class proving the reliability of the Porsche.
Chris Harris Joined Edward in his Norma showing some good pace being 4 quickest overall in the warm up. With a good qualifying position the race looked promising. On to the race and before long Edward and Chris were running at the front of the pack with cars dropping of the circuit in torrential rain a podium finish was on the cards.
Things soon changed with and intermittent miss fire slowing there pace. The misfire became worse and worse until what turned out to be a faulty ECU caused the car to retire .
Fortunately Edward was the last car in his class running and had completed enough of the race to be classified so brought home the Trophy for first in class.
Snetterton 12th May 2007 BritsportsPodium Finish for our first outing with Edward in his Norma
With changing weather conditions Edward put in a great qualifying, finishing second in class.
With a 50 minute race to include an 80 second pitstop, Edward had a consistent race combined with a perfectly timed pit stop, this left him third over all against the more powerful CE cars and second in class. Following the race finish it was discovered the Ligier that had beaten him in the race, had cut short their pit stop giving them a time penalty pushing Ed up to second overall and first in class :-)
Next race is Spa where he will be racing against the slower Britcars in a 4 hr race. Fingers crossed for another podium.
Dom E36
Disappointing weekend for Dom in his M3. Lack of time and testing left us with an overheating car in qualifying. After changing the thermostat for the first race he still had problems! A new waterpump and a modification to the water system put the car back on the track with no problems for race 2, but starting from the back of the grid. Dom pushed on hard eventually finishing 6th
Silverstone 24th April 2007
Two podium finishes for Dom in his first outing this year.
With the car sporting its smart new paint job Dom finishes P3 in the first race and P2 in the wet second race. Running on last years second hand tyres and missing aero upgrades the rest of the year looks promising for Dom in this years PS1 championship.
